Over a decade ago in the small town of Levanto, Italy, I bought the perfect shoe. From sandy white beaches to century-old cobblestone streets, the slide that inspired SCHŪ has walked many miles across the globe. With a desire to share the love for craftsmanship inspired by these journeys, SCHŪ is an artisanal, handcrafted combination of quality materials and a timeless, long-lasting design. Based out of Todos Santos Mexico, each SCHŪ is meticulously designed with imaginations of travel, adventure, and effortless style. SCHŪ can be worn day and night in total yet elegant support and comfort. Each pair is carefully handmade by craftspeople in Leon, Mexico, infused with a spirit of wanderlust and wrapped in an Italian soul. It is with hope that wearing SCHŪ will ignite curiosity and the desire to explore the many cultures and beauties that abound in our world.
As a mom of 3 high schoolers, I decided I needed to go back to work and start my own business. Knowing my kids would all be in college and the “empty nest syndrome" was looming in the future, I put my creative energy into SCHŪ. Being born & raised in Brazil and having worked abroad, I felt a great pull to reconnect with Latin America again. I came upon Leon, known as the shoe manufacturing capital of Mexico. I decided to start my adventure here with the very first SCHŪ slide. There were so many talented artisans in Mexico, I wanted to highlight their craftsmanship and it has been an honor to work & become friends with the people that hand crafted SCHŪ from the beginning.
